Very nice. Looks like what my future order list would be like as an All Electric coach. We became fond of the Euro Dinette as we checked them out over time. Since it'll be only my wife and I traveling full-time, we also like the two easy chairs for comfortable TV viewing.
So much for roughing it. Eh?

We pretty much have the same extras as you did - we did elect to go with one of the Dutch Star color and did not get the washer and dryer - (Can drop a lot of quarters at the RV Park laundry Matt for the price of those) Mainly wanted the extra closet space. By the way I heard that RVOne sold 98 RV's at the show between Entegra and Newmar, so I think they did well. Take care and hope all works out for all of us that ordered at the Hershey show.

Wow, 98, good for them. I hope they have the infrastructure and people to properly handle the PDI, delivery and service of that number of coaches in one glut.

It's just the two of us as well but we occasionally get invaded by a small group of 22yr old guys (our son and friends). They can fight over the tumble sofa and the recliners. Plus with the bath and a half, we retain our privacy.
We have a standalone table and chairs now. It works but the Euro Dinette seems more versatile in that you can use it for TV seating as well with a group visiting.
The Dutch Star's IFS and heated floors (I could care less about the extra 50HP and side radiator) were enticing but we felt we could get close enough with optioning out the Ventana and have more $$ left over to enjoy it!

Everyone is in a different station in life. I'm with you. I rather have an optioned-out Ventana and save my cash to spend on nice RV parks and more excursions away from camp. Gotta save our cash investments for the eventual S&B retirement home in case we don't die of old age while on the road. Besides, these new puppies will start to depreciate over time like a Big Dog anyway. Not the point for us though, the full-timing experience will be worth it.
IFS? Hey, I've never even owned or driven a coach in my life, so I'll never miss it. However, I know the TAG and Comfort Drive will be plus.
Heated Floors? I always wear slippers, flip-flops or tennis shoes around the S&B now.
Another 50HP? Both have the same torque.
Side radiator? I'll never be working on the diesel engine. Besides, if rear radiators were a problem, then the thousands of motorhomes with them on the road now are perpetual unhappy owners. Not.
But, to those who are Dutch Star owners, they're a happy bunch also. Variety is the spice of life.

We're on the same page, no doubt. I feel I understand the compromises going with the Ventana rather than the Dutch Star.
Would I take a Dutch Star at the same price as the Ventana? Absolutely, it's a wonderful coach, so is an Essex! Considering all aspects, the optioned out Ventana was a better choice for us. The Tag Axle, Comfort Steer and extra 5 feet in length are going to be an improvement in driving comfort but our current 35' Winnebago DP is a dream to drive without those improvements. Other than the heated floor, we got exactly the same FP and amenities as the DS.
IFS I get, but the whole side radiator thing is a non-issue for me. I don't service my own engine. You loose some underneath storage. The extra 50HP is mostly eaten up driving the side radiator fan. On a 45 foot 600HP Prevost, a side radiator is a must.
Newmar was the only manufacturer that allowed this level of floor plan customization at this price level. It was exciting and a bit nerve-wracking configuring a custom order Ventana but after this many years RVing in a variety of RV's, we know what we want/need and can afford. If this Ventana holds up mechanically over the years, it will probably be our last MH unless we choose to downsize at some point.

Well said!
I would also take a DS for the same price as the VT, BUT it's not the same price and wasn't worth the price jump to us either.

I can tell you first hand the comfort drive is simply the best. My 400 HP will flat get up and go as well.
My wife just liked the Ventana interior choices much better and for me, the outside color choices were great. I communicate regular with two other Ventana owners of the exact coach as mine except they each picked a different color so between the three of us we each have the three different color options offered for 2014.
As I indicated earlier or in another post, we picked ours up from Newmar this past April. To date we have nothing to even speak of regarding a punch list. I am sure we will eventually but for now, we have a great/solid coach.
Once you take ownership I am very confident you will both experience the same. Heck one day maybe we can all have a get together and call it a Ventana Rama!!!!! .

Newmarpusher, congrats on your order. Hope you will be as happy with your Ventana as we are with ours.
