2016 Canyon Star Ford Engine lights
Anyone having issues with their engine light coming on all the time? Ford dealership reset twice. Motor runs fine, but that light comes on and periodically the emergency brake light comes on. Any help appreciated
|

If the engine light is coming on, there should be stored codes, what codes is the dealer finding? Not sure but I believe there was an issue with the e brake light coming on

The CEL and the Brake light will come on in one specific situation. Steering wheel at the left or right stop and the brake pedal depressed all the way. The manual states this very condition. I have also had this happen in very slow stop and go traffic. First available chance cycle engine off and restart. Immediately cleared.

The code sales over speed but I never exceeded 60 MPH other than if we went down steep grade and the engine revved to slow coach down....?

Interesting as I also had a 2016 CS and drove well over 60 without any MIL light triggered. Didn’t know there was a such parameter. [emoji848] many hours at 70 MPH

Don’t know but Ford tells me to have the dealer reboot the system.....of course none of them have done that yet!

Found over speed code (don’t know why) as I’m never over 60MPH. They have reset and it keeps appearing......��������

I installed a 5 Star tune on mine, they are very knowledgeable and helpful at 5 Star, you might try calling them.

“Over speed” is most likely referring to engine speed, not road speed.
