2016 DSDP Front Bike Rack

Has anybody tried to fabricate a bike rack on the front of their coach? I'm looking for a way to carry two bikes. My Tow vehicle is a 2018 Dodge RAM 2500 Diesel that just fits my Polaris 900 Trail in the bed with the tailgate down, so no room for bikes there.

I'm thinking about seeing if a welding shot can add a short hitch type receiver on the front of the coach, that may take a bike rack on front? Just wondering if anyone has done this. It's not like it needs to handle a lot of weight.

You can fit a rack at the back of the coach on top of the hitch. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/look...ch-404705.html

You can get a dual receiver hitch and mount the bikes on the back of the MH and still tow your dingy.

"SMertens"......The front of your coach is fairly low and adding a hitch under the front cap may drag the ground. If your adamant about doing it, convert the license plate to a flip up or flip down license plate holder, available on Amazon. You can then cut a nice square hole through the front cap (behind where the license plate is now located) and have the receiver added. You can then just flip down the plate when using the bike rack.

You will have to be sure and not block the headlights with the bikes. On my coach, at least, it doesn't seem like it can be done.

I think you might find an easier (and far less expensive) solution in getting an extended tow receiver for your toad. Many pickups with a Lance type camper in the bed use extended receiver tubes. These come in varying lengths that will easily clear your tailgate and because bicycles are so light it shouldn't impact it's carrying capacity much at all. Here is one example. If you Google "extended tow receiver" you can find many more.
