2016 Newmar Canyon Star 3710 winter storage 110volt help !

Can some one please verify.. what I was told by Newmar ....

They said if I plug my RV into 110 volts and turn OFF.... the Battery Disconnect switch in the panel above entrance door , all three batteries will be on trickle charge from the coach systems. And maintain there levels .

Should that battery disconnect switch be on or off .....? And

Is this true ....and is it the best way to keep the batteries charged up in winter storage . Vs a battery tender Jr. Type unit.

Thanks for the help gang ![emoji12]Click image for larger version

I assume you have the Magnum power management like mine, I leave the disconnect off, inverter off and charger on. That has worked for me and kept the batteries charged.

Wrong tvp. Plug your RV into 110 volts and that’s it. The inverter/charger will do the rest. Should bring your batteries up to full charge and taper off. You panel should show you what’s happening.

Stretch, leaving the inverter on does nothing on our coaches. Is it different on the gasser?

We have a 2017 4369 like you. I leave it all on. Charges all batteries. Did same with last coach, an 05 Navigator. Both have AGM batteries.no problem in 10 years with Navigator.

Leave it on or off. The inverter/charger is not powered by that switch.

The inverter/charger charges thru the large cables that go to the batteries. There may be a manual switch near them, but that stays on.

The house disconnect switch shuts off the house items.

Good to know but I turn the inverter off to save it. The inverter draws power not necessary when in storage while the charger function handles the batteries. At least that's what I was told by Newmar. I'm learning each day which is good at my old age.🤣

Newmars always have the BCO on so all your batteries both house and chassis are fully charged, while plugged into 110 volts.

You have no need for inverter in storage.

So would it not make sense to leave house disconnect. Switch off so no loads to draw down batteries, .... the switch above entry door in monitor panel .
