2017 DS Patio Light Switch

Does anyone know if it's possible to disconnect the entry step light from the Patio Light switch. It makes no sense to me for the interior entry step light to come on and stay on with this switch. I don't have an issue with it coming on automatically when you open the door but I don't want it on just because the Patio light is on. Just my opinion! Thanks.

Just figured it out. Very easy. Just carefully pull out the switch and pull the various spades out until you find the one that controls the step light - put some electrical tape on the male end of that spade and push the switch back in. DONE!

Any plan or thoughts about being able to control the light, not just disable it...anyone?

It will still come on when you open the door because it is wired separately to the door and that's the only time we want it to come on.
