2017 Dutch Star pricing
Have been a Newmar DSDP owner for over 14 years.
I am going to order a 2017 Dutch Starr. Does anyone
have any info or input into what % I should be able to get
the dealer to come off the WSRP?
Thanks for any info.
I will report back after I make a deal

Dale, 28% is common if you order it. 2017 on a lot they usually won't do that. Maybe in 6 months you could get that deal on a lot. Randy

The last thing I have heard there are 160 Dutch Star's on dealer lots so the deals will be on 2016. If ordering a 2017 Dutch Star the better Spartan chassis won't be available till after June 20th. With the improved chassis up grades there should be a 3 to 5% increase in cost. 25% should be a good starting point for a discount.

2017 Dutch Star pricing
Many thanks to Tom & Fixit
I will shoot for 25% off. May have to "shop" it to
several dealers.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the prices have gone up about 3% so shouldn't the discount still be in the 28% range?

When buying a 2016 Dutch Star make sure to check front axle weight. Numerous owners are still having issues with front axle weight.

I believe the 2017 has a 20 k Lbs front axle with bigger tires.
As far as discounts the 25% rule is probably a good deal and that would include the 3-4% increase. If something goes up 5% you don't get the 25% off plus the 5% off you get 25% off of the new price which includes the 5% increase.
If I was ordering today I would call Midway in Grand Rapids MI work out the discount off of the list or a cost plus $X deal with factory delivery. I like the cost plus $X deal. The dealer gets the same no matter how low of a price you order or how high of a price you order. Why should there be a difference as long as it is reasonable? $10 k-12 k profit is not unreasonable for a $410 k+ list, $290 -300 k cost item.

Correct. 28% is the same. Why try 25%. Try 30. You have to start somewhere. Don't start at to low of a discount.

2017 axle weights depend on model length. 19K for the 43' FL. Spartan is either 19K or 20K depending on which source you look at.

I have only seen Spartan ratings of 19,000 and then 18,000 on the same page. Check on the Spartan web page for 2017 Newmar lineup. However the PDF is dated March 2016. Maybe by the time the official word from Newmar it may change.

I suggest you give National Indoor RV Centers ( National Indoor RV Centers - RV Sale) a call. Very good prices and excellent customer service (before and after sale).
