for the amount of miles i put on, i'll take the better fuel mileage.....

i would only want the bigger power plant if i was consistently towing 15K....

a conventional dingy (i tow either a jeep unlimited rubicon or a crew crab ford 150) doesn't need all that power, IMHO....

i've taken my 380hp/1150ftpd torque phaeton to glacier last year and the oregon coast this year.....she did great....on the way home this year i pulled shell canyon and granite pass on WY 14 leaving cody, wy, through the big horn mountains....no issues at all.....i always was able to go as fast as i wanted to go....

the phaeton is lighter than the DS, for sure...but the dutch star has 70 more HP and 100 more ftpd of torque....

i think for overall fuel mileage, and overall drivability in all conditions, the 450 ISL is the sweet spot....based on weight, of course...put a 15K stacker behind a DS, and it will be a pig....

YMMV and JMHO.....

if so, i like to do that often as well....and the auto fill will be a nice feature....

the 2018's are supposed to have a better water pump from the 2017's, from the luxury line, that was often asked for as a special in the past....do you notice a difference ?

also, with the sanicon system, are you using the grey water by pass ?

any pics of that system that you can post would be much appreciated....
I hooked up the water and leave the pump on too like I always do. Sometimes I dears the pump run.

I don't see any Grey water "bypass". Either you plug in the Sanicon or the slinky. I don't know if you left the Grey valve open if it would eventually go out the San icon hose. Used it this morning before departure, what a dream!

thanks for the picture, and i'm glad to hear it !

maybe with the turbo system, with it being so much faster than the original box system, they eliminated the grey water bypass...or maybe the grey water bypass is integrated into the unit internally....

in the online manual for the turbo 600s, there is no mention of the grey water bypass, which leads me to believe that it is not present....

another item of note is that the unit needs to be winterized...obvious when you think about it, but potentially easy to forget about....with you headed to AZ for the winter, that won't be an issue, i guess.....for me, i'm still not sure if i will winterize the coach or not.....last winter i used my phaeton all winter, at least every other weekend...never winterized her....
