2018 DS Spartan tag axle disc brakes?

Has anyone asked if disc brakes on the tag axle of a 2018 Spartan can be optioned?

I believe that disc brakes on the tag axle of a 2018 Spartan are standard on most if not all Newmar models.

On the DS in 2017they were, drums on tag for DS 2018

The 2017 Spartan had disc brakes on all 3 axles
The 2018 Spartan has disc on front and drive axle and drum on the tag.

Very unlikely that Newmar would do it as an option but you should try a request through a dealer.

I believe the answer is found on the Spartan website. It list each chassis and coach under Newmar's name. Disc brakes on all wheel including tag on Mountain Aire chassis and up. Dutch Star, all wheels are Disc except the tag.

Yes I knew this prior to this thread and stated this in prior post, the question is can tag disc brakes be optioned as an upgrade? .

I asked my contact at Spartan and this was his answer.

"Occasionally we are able to do things like this where we build a one off, but usually has to be approved at the OEM level."



It sounds like it is possible, but the order would have to come from Newmar.
