2018 DSDP keyless entry is driving me crazy, is anyone else having these problems? When using the keypad enter the code and :

Button 1 it unlocks entry and basement doors, it should just unlock the entry door.
Button 2 it unlocks entry and basement doors, it should just unlock the basement doors.
Button 3 it unlocks basement doors only, it should just do nothing.
Button 4 it unlocks basement doors, it should unlock both entry and the basement doors.

Here is what the manual states:
Button (1): Unlock entry doors.
Button (2): Unlock doors wired to 2nd Unlock output.
Button (3): NA
Button (4): Sequentially activate entry unlock and 2nd unlock outputs.

When using the key fob;

The Entry Unlock: button unlocks both the entry and basement doors.
The Entry Lock button: works correctly, it just locks the entry door.
Cargo Unlock: button works correctly, it just unlocks the basement door.
Cargo Lock button: works correctly, it just Locks the basement door.

I don’t know how many times I have left the basement doors unlocked just because when I use the keypad to get at night and just lock the door from the inside and forget the basement.

I remember reading last year that others had this issue and Newmar said it was a BIG “WAD” (Works As Designed). Has anyone found a fix? I think this is only a 2018 issue.

My 2019, button one unlocks just the entry door, and button 2 unlocks both the entry door and the basement doors. Never tried using the others....

Marc.....getting through to Trimark can take some doing, but once I did, their techs were very helpful. They may tell you that's the way it is, or you need a new controller.

Here's something I hate on my 2019. Every time the engine is started, it locks the basement doors. I wish this was not part of the programming. I don't carry the keys around and I have to constantly remember to unlock the bays.

I think was an issue in 2018. Before I picked up my coach I remember someone talking about it on the forum and Newmar said it was a feature not a bug. I guess I will give them a call and see what they say.

There have been several threads on this issue about a year ago when the 2018s came out. Several people tried to reverse engineer Newmar's "feature" but we couldn't make it work like the manual states. Neither Trimark nor Newmar were of any help. I finally gave up and learned to live with it.

Bottom line, Newmar stated that it works as designed. I was unable to get sufficient support from Trimark to resolve the issue. At the time, the vehicle was still under warranty and I was I little hesitant to take things apart too much.

I’ll be returning home in another month and have a list of mods planned for this summer. I plan on looking at this issue again.
