Probably too early to have details such as that and since nobody has responded, I will tell you of my experience on my 2017 LADP. When we arrived for our factory pickup, I had a Progressive Industries surge protector with me with the intention of having Newmar install for me inline with existing transfer switch. Newmar stated that they have had some problems with that unit working with the SilverLeaf system. I did not understand the issue, but they would not install. The basic Surge Guard transfer switch in the LADP is P/N 40100 is only a transfer switch with no protection what so ever. We did have the transfer switch from the Essex and King Aire installed at an extra charge. Now the upgraded switch is an option in 2018 on the LADP, maybe others but don't know the whole story.

So bottom line, if the upgraded switch is an option in the 2018 LADP, it only stands to reason that the DS would have the lesser unit as standard.

I'm assuming the Surge version maybe the 40350. I believe it is the one in the Essex and KA

Yes, the 40350 was the one installed. I installed the remote display that I ordered from RVUpgrades.

I was told 7 weeks ago by Ken Miller (Newmar Service Manager) that a Progressive Industries combination Transfer Switch / Surge Protector was now available. I assumed if was going into the 2018 Dutch Star from the phone conversation I had with Ken.

It was offered to me by Ken for my 2017 Dutch Star that we are picking up at the factory this month.
