2018 Newmar Coaches

Does anyone know when Newmar starts making their 2018 models? My order for a 2017 was confirmed to be delivered May 1, 2017. Seems like 2018's hit the lots in early summer. Depreciation difference would be 15% immediately.

We purchased our '17 Essex in late August of '16 which would imply that it must have been in production in June/July.

Our '17 was built in June of '16.

If you have a delivery date of May 1, than your actual build date would likely be mid to late March I think. 2 to 3 weeks in paint and final prep and a week or two to transport.

June seems to be the model year transition time in the assembly building which probably translates to late July, early August for delivery to the dealers.

Our coach went down the line the first week of June. There were both 15s and 16s going down the line together.

talking with Newmar today & was told that they will be building 2017 into late June this year & that the 2018s will not come off line until sometime in August.

Newmar has higher than usual number of orders & 2017 production will run a little longer this year than in pass years.

Was told that you might be able to see the decor in the design center late May this year if not June. Dealer orders for 2018s will start coming in in June.

I still take all this to be hearsay - lol

Management confirmed that the 18s won't start construction until July and probably won't hit dealers until late august....this was at Q&A at NKK Tampa Rally

They are pretty tight lipped. I can say though I know someone who is about to order a Dutch Star & he was told there won't be any significant changes to any DP lines except on the Essex which is due for a design change.

It was great to meet you guys yesterday and thank you for taking time to show me your coaches and answer my questions! I am who Brian is referencing who was asking about changes to the DS and LA line. I was told no significant changes, the remake a model every year and 2018 would be the Essex.

Good insight Brian. The one chassis related change that had been discussed around here prior, and I confirmed with Dave Garl last week, was next year's Spartan chassis for Dutch Star will NOT be all wheel disc brakes.

Was it a Newmar rep or a sales person that indicated no DS changes?

Newmar has no incentive to indicate major changes to the DS now. Entegra made the mistake a few years ago and sales dropped off once people knew that big changes were coming.

As always only time will tell.

As far as I know it was a Newmar rep, Ryan could confirm that if he chimes in.

Bill
I received different answeres to the brakes question, one rep said they are gone and the other said to be determined.
