2019 Bay Star 3408 - we did it!!!
After what seems like an eternity of 'kicking tires', we finally brought home our new Bay Star 3408. Took 2 days to drive home and the overnight stop allowed us to 'practice' a few of the features. Now we're looking forward to new adventures!

Congrats, I'm sure you'll love it.
Why the Bay Star? I'm in the same boat you were last month, looking, for our first, and trying to decide. I'm doing that Gas vs. Diesel exercise and picking the MH in each we want. We've narrowed down our gas choices to Bay Stat & Canyon Star so I'm interested in what sold you on it.
Once again, congrats, nice looking rig you now own.

Congrats. Like the colors also...
@MidMichHunte: Be watchful of the available NCC when looking at the longer rigs in particular GVWR wieght class (22k, 24k, 26k chassis). Generally speaking the 1st (shortest rig) in the weight class has the higher NCC figure. There has been more than a few surprised by how little carry weight their nice new rig is left with. Good luck..

Congratulations! It's a beauty! I'm sure you will love your Bay Star as much as we love ours. Newmar doesn't disappoint!

So true! Ordered a 2002 DSDP didn't order tile floor or washer/dryer. I wasn't worried about weight as it had 5,500#'s of NCC. But I found it only had 651#'s of CCC and ALL of that was on the back axle as the front was 50#'s over if I filled the fuel tank. And that was before we put anything in or got ourselves in.

@ sedaliaterry
Thx for the heads up. I'm seeing that as well. Some of the longer Newmar's we like, don't offer as much as the shorter ones. That is why a DP is still an option.

Thank you all for the kind words.
We really got locked in on Newmar because of the obvious quality. And we were trying to stay within a budget, which ruled out the Canyon Star or DP.
We really liked the 3626, but the carrying capacity was just too low (less than 2000#). The 3014 was over 3000#, but the RV was just too small. So we ended up with the 3408 - about 2450# even with the washer/dryer. Since we aren't full timers, we think that it's enough for us.
We are happy with the amount of storage space, both inside and out. And with the 3 slides open, we have more than enough room. Wish it had a drop down bunk, but it wasn't an option. But other than that, it's what we were looking for.
Now.....if I can just figure out all the systems!!!!

Thanks for the response I appreciate you sharing. The 34’ length looks to be the sweet spot, not too big but big enough and the CCC isn’t bad. Now to find the floor plan we want. We may want to go FT in 8-10yrs so we don’t need the big DP, at least yet.
Enjoy learning the systems, it does seem daunting...
