On my 2014 DS, the switches that turn the lights on over the sink, water pump, and Fantastic Fan, are located on the wall to the left of the kitchen counter, above the sofa. You literally had to walk around the counter and over to the sofa to turn the lights on or operate the fan or water pump. I added a second set of the switches to the edge (side) of the sink, adjacent to the drawer below the cook top.

I wanted to have this done as a "special" when I ordered the 2019 DS 4018. My dealer showed me an announcement from Newmar stating that due to customer demand, the switches were moved from the sofa area. The dealer had some photos of a 2019 DS 4018 still on his website and the switches were still above the sofa.

Does anyone have a new 2019 DS 4018, that can share where their switches are for the sink lights. If they're still in the same old spot, I'm going to add my "special" back in.

Don … here is a picture of a 2019 DS 4018 I saw on Midway's website. Looks like the switches are now on the side … but on the face next to the sofa. Looks like yours on the face closer to the sink.

I would. At this point, better safe than sorry. And it can't cost a fortune to do it. But man I can see the frustration if we are all wrong and it's not as shown in either photo!

I really like your location, on the wall over the couch where mine are is a PITA. Not sure I love the new stock location. Don, did you run a harness over to the existing switch and tie all wires in so the old and new switch work? This is something I would like to do!

Adding wall switches is really easy. The only issue, you can only buy one that matches what you currently have. They won't make a new one with switches you've selected. If you decide to add one, pull the switch that you like and get the number off the back before you call Newmar.

There is no special wiring, the information is in the switch. Just find the KIB wire running behind your cabinets and tap the three wires from the switch into the existing wires. The KIB system reads the information form the switch.

There is plastic ring that clips in and also screwed to the wall mine are brown, the switch plate snaps in to that ring. It just snaps out, pry gently making sure you are prying between the brown ring and back of switch plate. Bottom is best

"Stuart W"....You're obviously going to have a ton of mods that people will enjoy and copy. I know you just completed the above light switch mod, but found a better place for it on your coach. You should really do a separate post on it, so that "007" can create a stickie that has just your mods. I find it handy to go look at ones like PDR John does.

Don I would happy to share this mood with others. It’s basically the same mode that you did, I got the idea for it when you visited last week. As said the original location of the switch is a real PITA to get to while working at the counter. Thank you Don for the great idea. I am 95% done with this project, just waiting on the switch from Newmar that I was told may take 3 weeks to receive.
