2019 DSDP Front End Look - Not Great IMO

I just saw a 2019 DSDP at a dealership. To say I was under whelmed might be close to my feelings but to be honest...I'm not far from "yuck". One salesperson said they weren't that happy with it either.

I'm not saying that I'm in absolute love with what I call the chrome grin of the last few years but I didn't feel negative about it either. However, the recessed, sealed beam look they gave it for 2019 just leaves me flat. The grey day and greyish color (velocity exterior?) on that coach didn't help.

I didn't notice the tail end. Looking at the 2019 brochure pictures I'm not struck as negatively about the tail end change. The brochure pictures of the front end gave me some time to re-examine my opinion but they do not change it.

I know...change can be hard to accept so maybe it's just me.

No, I think several have looked at the 2019 DSDP front and rear caps and wondered, what were they thinking?

Been here a long time and change is hard to shallow, even some of the interiors of the new age turns my stomach sometimes.
"But they call it progress" still liked the comforts of the older coach's as even the vintage cars of old, that's right I'm just an old guy living out the old times.

"007" were both getting old , and I'm sure I'm catching up. You were once seven times as old as me , now your only one and a tenth, as old.

Every coach function controlled from a laptop... if your laptop can be hacked then so can your coach .

Yes , I'll keep my vintage coach going as long as humanly possible.

It kind of looks a little bit like an Entegra, except I like the Entegra. The dutchstar looks like it's angry, or frowning? lol. Either way, I agree with Sky-boss...not a pretty design. The back end looks like a Transformer!

I think they are following a trend in the car industry.

I had thought the previous DS front end was super classy with the chrome grill and what not. This year's new look is really a step backwards. If I were considering a DS this year I would be looking for '18's still on the lot just because of the front end.

i have not seen one up close yet, but looked over the tom lindstrom picks really really closely. at first blush, i don't like it as much, either...at first i thought it was downright ugly...i've moved beyond that and just think it's not as nice as the previous iteration....will reserve final judgement when i see it at the hershey show, however.......

Personally I hated the previous fronts with the chrome slats. It looked like they were emulating a gasser with a fake grill.
So the 2019 has what looks like downforce winglets on the front, which I assume helps keep the front wheels in contact with the road when you hit 150 mph. Form over function gone mad?

not my favorite either, I do think that color choices will have a big impact on the overall appearance. in the picture above, the gold really calls attention to it.

I don't want this to sound offensive but...kinda made me think of an Entegra cross bred with an older Winnebago Tour.

I've only seen the one pic in this thread, but I like it. I'm not a big chrome person though, as you can tell from my blacked out wheels and mostly de-badged rig. I've thought about doing a black-chrome wrap over my '17 front grill but I'm not sure about the look yet, nor am I sure it will hold up to constant scrubbing of bugs. From what I'm seeing, I like the '19 but not enough to go trade mine in...

Okay, I had to do some searching and find some pics... I think I take back what I said. When you see the front end on an angle, IDK [Mod Edit] is going on!

The rear isn't as bad, but I really liked the style on my '17 and I feel like the '19 looks like "some other" RV, I just can't put my finger on it:

You can only do so much with a flat faced coach, IMHO. That's what attracted me to my coach - the opposite of flat, and more aero dynamic and I don't feel the trucks or RVs passing me much. I do feel a little but not what I've read about other coaches (not having comfort steer)
