3 steps go out 1/2 way and jacks don't work?

On our 18 London Aire with a wet Thanksgiving went to open the door and the step came out 1/2 way and stopped and then tried to use the jacks and they didn't work at all. After a call to Newmar found out the sensor for the steps had a problem and that it needed to be replaced. Order the sensor from HWH but what I learned was that if these same problems come to you Newmar you only need to disconnect the two cables under step cover and your door and large slide will now work. If you were out in your coach with your slide out and this happened you would know that you could still bring the slide in and have your steps working till you replace the sensor. There is one issue when you do this and that is your step now will fully extend every time you open the door so you need to be aware of this on till you replace the sensor. After assisting many Newmar owners with issues like their slide won't come in this could be helpful on the 4 July of 2020. The sensor is 107$ but glade I now know this information sharing with you. This would apply to all 17 and newer MA, Essex and King Aire owners.

The Mountain Aire doesn’t have HWH steps (I tried as a special but it was denied), so it doesn’t apply to MA.
