Thanks Ed,
I was told a couple of days ago that our coach was about 75% complete and going over to start the paint process. If anyone happens to see #800862 please go drool on it for me. It's scheduled to be ready 8/9.

I forget what they call those folks that you saw working around the production line, either they're supervisors or "line service" folks where part of their job entails making certain the production folks have everything they need.
Not sure how long they'd work into a three week shutdown, once they put the line back, or when they finished the small jobs necessary to get the units ready for transport.

I guess Darla's position wasn't in the layoff criteria and as such she'll still be doing her job, but not sure there'd be much to see other than "when the guys are here there's where they work" kind of thing.
Might be interesting to see the big pieces of sidewalls hanging there and so forth, but that's all you see.

Hey Ed, since you'll be at the International maybe you can get us some more scoop on how they plan to address service issues during the shutdown which need cabinet parts and so forth which are usually made on the production line?
Matt Utley is usually hanging around the service area during the International and who better to get the scoop from than from the proverbial "horses mouth" of service at Newmar?

I'm guessing since GaryKD is an early arriving member of the parking team, he's not reading iRV2 and as such won't see these threads.

Each workstation still has the coach / fiver that was in progress at the end of day on Thursday (or whatever day production actually ceased this week). There is a wide range of product on the line, so you can see some of almost every model. I'm guessing those unit's delivery will be delayed by the shutdown period, at least. The tour may actually benefit by being able to allow visitors to go thru units at various stages of construction, without being in the way of the "vacationing" workers. Another benefit will be the lack of the incessant loudspeaker paging, which was really loud without the construction din to help mute it somewhat.

Sorry I did not know which unit # to watch for, as we are leaving today for DuQuoin. ED

Thanks Ed.....

Maybe you or one of the other iRV2 members who will be in DuQuoin can get some more of the "straight" scoop from the folks there from Newmar.

I guess the numbers assigned to the units are the order in which the build sheet is taken, not the oder in which they are to be built. I say this because 862 is being built 6 weeks before mine(861), but mine was ordered earlier.

Hi! Can you guys teach me the numbers game? Are 861 & 862 the last 3 numbers of your coach. Does that mean you will have the 862nd Essex built? Paul

When I inquired about the sequential nature of coach numbering, as my EXDP was 800616 I was told it's not an "exact" science and as such not a true barometer of the number of coaches actually constructed.

The number is 800861 (09 Essex w/full wall slide), my current coach is 800554 (06 Essex 4503). As I mentioned, they are not numbered in the order they are built, but, instead, in the order their build sheet was deposited.

That is, your coach is assigned a number when you put your money down. The order in which they are built is up to who knows what!

Are the first numbers the model line? I was told our KGDB's serial number is 530040. Is that the build number?

It doesn't look like it.

There are deliveries, and a little activity.

I wasn't able to determine production plans today.
