3914 Bed Size

So, looking at a left over new 3914.

Love the living area layout (can't believe they stopped it for this year).

The one we are looking at has a king bed.

Understand they probably left out the second slide in the bedroom due to washer and dryer location.

So the question is, has anyone turned that king into a queen or short queen to gain the additional room in the bedroom?

Thanks.

OK we can get started.
A link to get you around irv2.
This will give you all info on coach who it was built for, tsb's, brochure, bulletins, owner's guide, recalls if they come and other important info.
All links below in my signature will relate to the coach.
Good luck in your quest and maybe a welcome to the Newmar forum.

If the coach was ordered by dealer for king bed, not sure he would cut to a smaller bed, most coach's ordered by future owners would be ordered with the options they wanted, if someone backed out of this coach order its what it is.

Figured it would have to be done by me if it could be.

From what i saw looking at the coach the one time we did i believe at least the base the sleep number was sitting on came to the end of the mattress.

Was just looking for feedback if anyone else had done a mod to shorten the bed to gain some room in the master.

We have a Forester 3051 currently and it was an easy one to go from Queen to short Queen since the platform did not come all the way to the end of the mattress. Just replaced the mattress and gained 6 inches of space in the master.

I'm sure with the sleep number the supporting structure would need modified to put a shorter mattress on there instead.

Appreciate all the links provided.

3914 Bed Size

You do realize the bed slides up on its frame to give more room?

Yes, even moved up it is still a little tight. Just looking at options since we loved the living area.

Next one will be the retirement coach so looking at everything based on eventual long term use each year.

Would love it if could do something like the 3953 with the 3914 living area.

I agree. I loved the 3914 living area. But the bedroom was a no go for DW. Its just too tight to be comfortable for us. It needs the 4th slide to open up the bedroom. The only thing we had considered was if ordering a new one, we would have ordered with a queen bed.
