3920 Rear seat orientation

I sold my toy hauler trailer, and I'm now shopping for a 3920 to replace it....

I use the toy hauler garage; sometimes for one of my Harleys, and always for my two Great Danes...

All the 3920s I've seen have the rear bed & seating. The seating, however, is facing fore & aft.. I don't get that at all... I find it very inconvenient to the layout. It makes the garage hard to get around if the seats are down.

I noticed the 3921 switched them to facing side to side.... This is how they were in my trailer, worked well, easy to navigate...

The 3921s I'm looking at are a little out of my price range...

Has anyone been able to switch the sitting position of the fore/aft seats to side to side, without major fabrication....?

We have a 2014 3921 with the same goofy forward/rearward facing couch in the garage. We took ours out completely and use lawn chairs.

I had a 2015 CS 3921 and the seats were mounted side to side so you **could** duck your head down and walk between them.

I don’t think a lot of fabricating is needed to change but I never saw a ‘14 in person. On mine there were 2 lower arms on each side that rode up and down on the track. Those are the standard Lippert components.

Then onto those arms they bolted the benches with scissor hinged seat backs that also became a bed. Those were obviously custom sized to fill the space.

So in theory you could just unbolt, rotate and re-bolt the sofa you have - if it fits well between the rails.

So the key is the size of the components you have - and if you can find a way to reuse the mount holes in the sofa.

If you have to you could build a wooden frame that bolts to the arms and then bolts to the sofa. You can lower the lower arms to match the height added for such a frame. I know because I raised all of my beds/sofas to allow me to leave my dog crates mounted to the floor track.

I am hoping what you have posted is possible.... but it isn't a dealbreaker... all else about the 3920 I really like in comparison to it's only competition, the Thor.

The side facing beds were very useful in my toy hauler trailer. Good for my dogs with one bike in the rear, or for dogs/people who who like to walk through. I often leave the back ramp door open, with a wire fence across the opening so the dogs don't try to get out. That allows them to hang out there in good weather, and they feel like they are hanging outside....

If I can't change the orientation, the seats will be removed as "catz66" did.

I'll store them in my shed, next to the garage bed, that I don't need either.... The garage load limit is 200lbs shy of allowing me to put two of my Harleys back there. Any weight savings from the garage will help..
