50 Amp Service Plug
Has anyone replaced their 50 amp electrical plug? If so what did you use as a replacement plug?
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Stealth01, are you asking about the receptacle on the bus or the cord ends? Marinco makes all of them and I have replaced all of them at one time or another. You can look them up ... Cuz Google' can find all that stuff.

If you need the 50 amp male end Camco has them and WalMart has them at times. Also check Home Depot and Lowes. Even Camping World carries them.

50 amp plug on the end of the cord into the shore power pole.

This one is a little pricy but it's very robust:

I used the camco as my plug failed while travelling. When I got home I replaced the entire power cable with a molded, sealed plug. The camco plug is not waterproof and I that is important to me.
I decided to keep my coach as original as possible.

A suggestion on a replacement 50 AMP is to fill the inside with silicone before putting the 2 ends together. Over time we found the connections came lose and wires touched each other.

Tom, I'm not an electrician but that doesn't sound like a good solution to me. What happens now if the connections become loose? How do you tighten them? I'd be interested to hear comments from the Electricians in the crowd.
