9 Pin Connector(s)

I have two 9 pin connectors under the dash, 1 green and 1 black. Does anybody know the difference in the two connectors? Click image for larger version

The green connector is for J1939 protocol devices (code readers, etc.) and the black connector is similar, but for the older protocol (J1708 ?).

Thanks, Jim. Kinda thought that, but with the green having fewer pins, I wondered if that as so. Thanks!

I used the BlueFire adapter today, and get more data (1 gauge) on the black than I do on the green. The data received is the transmission temp.
