97' Mnt Aire water filling problem...help

I am having a problem filling up my water tanks. Found the city water inlet was not working properly so we installed a manual valve. Hooked up the water hose and heard the water filling up the hot water heater. Then nothing. No water was going into the tanks?? While hooked up to the water hose we do have pressure and water coming out of the faucets but cannot leave the hose plugged in. All valves were open, waited a few hours thinking it was just going in slow. Nope, still empty. Just looking to fill the those tanks. Any thoughts on why they are not filling?

Thanks a million!
Tammy

Have you turned the valve from city water use to the setting to fill tank? Mine rotates 0 degrees tothe left with handle pointing up to fill water tank. City water fill has tge top of the handle pointing to the right or toward the rear of M/H.

Thank you Ronnie. We looked inside and out for a valve and "finally" found what looked like a button right above the city water sticker. Yup, turned it to the left.... and the tank filled up with water. Boy do we feel dumb. Not sure if it had a knob once upon a time but we used a plier and turned as you suggested. What a relief as we had been at this for several days. Learning as we go!

Thanks again!

Glad you found it. I think you could find a replacement at any RV store or possible hardware. If you have RV neighbors check them out for type of handle. Mine is just a straight handle with normal splines. If you use pliers try not to damage the splines on the valve side.
