A/C filter(s) on my Dutch Star?

My '98 Dutch Star has two roof mounted 13,500 btu units controlled by a single thermostat on the wall between the kitchen and the bath. Last time I was camping, the front unit froze up and I had to let it warm and defrost before it would work again. The manual suggested I check the intake air filters but I can't find them. The manual shows a unit that is similar on the roof but has a vent panel with diffusers mounted inside as part of each unit. My units are ducted throughout the MH and do not have the inside diffuser/vent panels which the manual shows to contain the filters. I can't figure out where the filters would be in this configuration. My Newmar manual shows nothing on this. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul, your filters are in those vents in your ceiling. Place your fingers in vent ribs and twist and pull down on vent. Vents left side looking to rear of coach should be them.
You need to wash the filter let dry before replacing.
Someone said in other thread on same subject you can get material in Wal-marts cut same size and you have replacements while others dry.
You have another sensor for temp in white plastic cage about size of quarter on bedroom wall for rear AC.
Scrool down on this link.

I put the filters in "fine washables" laundry bag and throw them in the washing machine.

Works great!

In addition to cleaaning your vent filters you probably need to clean the air conditioners themselves. Remove the covers over the air conditioners and see if the fins are clogged with dirt and debris.

Thank you all. I found them and cleaned them. Next step is to get the covers off the roof section and clean the fins.

I got the filter material at Home Depot and I wash them in the kitchen sink using dish washing liquid.

I'm having the same problem. Cool air for a couple hours then no air at all. Sounds like it is still running. After I leave it off an hour or two it will be fine.I had a so called AC repair man come out to camp ground all he brought was his air hose went up and because it is a closed unit He said he couldn't work on it. I'm taking it to a qualified duo therm facility next week. I'll let you know next week about the out come. The back AC works great it is just way to much cold air in the bedroom when sleeping.

It appears your air conditioner(s) is freezing up. The older units do not have a freeze sensor, but the newer units do. The first thing I would do is give the air conditioners a complete cleaning and that may help the freezing problem.
