A question for everybody, please

This morning, I got asked about the duty cycle of large vehicles. (I get asked A LOT of questions since I came back to work at TRW. )

I know there a few of you who drive their coaches 1,000 miles twice a year and there are a few of you who never stay in the same place three nights in a row, racking up 50,000 miles a year. I made a wild guess that the average coach will average 5,000 miles a year.

I would like to either validate or disprove my assertion so I would really appreciate it if you would either reply on this thread or PM me about your typical yearly mileage. I'm hoping for nearly as many replies as there are views of this thread.

Thank you.

Ken

Last year was just over 12, 000 in 7 months. But for an average year I would say 7500.

For the last 14 years of DP ownership, we've averaged 7500 per year. The first seven of those years I was working. Since retirement, we're averaging about 9500 per year.

Hi Ken, I've always racked up about 15,000 miles per year (For the last 20 years), however, I think I will be reducing that to somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 miles.

So, What! You quit retirement and went back to work???

Well, I know retirement is a rough road. You don't get any weekends off, no holiday weekends, no sick days off, no yearly holiday time...........

Having bought 4-5 used MH’s over the years, I’d say the OP is fairly close to what I’ve seen as average miles. Plenty of units are used during football season and a summer vacation, many sit for long periods of time.

Since Feb 2015 only about 4,000 miles. 3 months of the first year were waiting for Cummins to repair the ISX, right in the middle of summer season. Next trip out was getting called for the late DW's liver transplant, she died 48 days later.
Made one trip to CA to help a friend with legal issues after her boyfriend died.
Now getting ready for more travel this year. But, historically it's been 4 - 5,000 per year, but we were borh working full time.
