A red and a white plug behind the peg board

I just removed the peg board in the passenger side compartment trying to find the strange odor that is in the 1/2 bath on my 2015 DS and I found a red and a white plug that looks like it would be for a speaker or something of that order. They are on the end of a fairly long length of a 2-wire cord, any idea what they are there for?

Do you have heated tanks? If not, it could be the connector. You'll find a lot of unused connectors throughout the coach. They are used for other equipment or options.

Red & white almost sounds like audio.

Its likely associated with the outdoor TV option. For some of the Dutch Star's the outdoor TV is in that area. It is for ours.

Thanks guys. I bet it is for the outdoor TV which would be mounted in a more forward compartment but these plugs look like there's enough length of wiring to reach another compartment.
All the questions I seem to have with this DS I have been trying to decide on a camera so I can post pictures but so far have not succeeded. Too many cameras on the market and when I read the reviews none of them gets a majority of +s.

On the DSDP's we've had and others I've seen the outdoor TV used to be mounted in the same compartment as the pegboard with the tanks behind it but I'm not sure about the '15's.

Can we assume you don't have a smart phone, which you can use to take pictures ?

Most Vehicle and MH makers have a single wiring harness that fits multiple models, and sometimes even multiple makes. This harness has wires for this option, and that option, and the other option, and yet more options. and the odds of them ALL being needed approach ZERO, so there are always extra wires usually with connectors on them.

Totally agree, the plugs had no smell at all so the search goes on. Always worries me when I find something not connected to anything, knowing what kind of efficiency we get from businesses these days.

Correct, just a flip phone. I kind of feel like I'm driving a model A while everyone around me is driving Mustangs. Only use my phone to make and receive calls.

A red and a white plug behind the peg board

I contacted Newmar regarding those same two plugs on our 2015 Dutch Star 4369. The rep was not totally helpful but after some research said he thought they went to the radio located in the dash. They are not control wires for heated tanks as suggested in one of the replies to your message as we have heated water tanks ant the two wires are not hooked to anything.

Some nice day when I have time on my hands I intend to open up the dash area and see if I can find the other end of those wires. I have installed a TV in the peg board compartment and would like to play the dash radio at that location if that is indeed where the wires lead.

If you find where they do go, please update you post with the answer.

Thanks,

Tom
