I may be reading the manuals too much - but as I understand it, were it to be necessary to have our 2004 KSDP towed, the method is to pick it up at the rear. And if I've got it right, the air suspension needs to be fully inflated to prevent damage. If the reason the coach is being towed is that it hasn't got power, that's a problem. There's something about charging the suspension from a schrader valve at the air/moisture filter - but if it's there (newbie - haven't been there!) I don't know how one would get to it. The engine and associated miscellany are all blocked by the radiator. Would someone please enlighten me about this? Thank you.
Jim

Hi bairdofl,
I've never seen a Newmar coach towed from the rear. With either end off the ground the air bags will loose air. I'm not sure if your 04 has something special to keep the air in the bags when one axle is off the ground.
A high level view of being towed is:
1. the tow truck driver will disconnect the drive shaft. The driver or you should mark the shaft very visually so it can be reinstalled the same way on each end so the shaft goes on the U joints the same way it came off).
2. The tow truck should have a lift that has pulleys on the bottom of the rear platform. This allows the coach end to be lifted without the tow truck cable(s) ever touching the fiberglass end cap of the coach.
3. The tow truck should be the "mother" of all tow trucks. If a pickup truck arrives, send him on his way.

The tow truck operator will connect his air compressor to your motorhome's air system quick disconnect by the generator. That will keep your air bags inflated and the brakes off.

The front end will be on tow platform and lift to be as level as possible and it should the BIG mother of all tow trucks. Also some how tie your rear mud guard up off street so you have something left to it after tow.

My coach has only been towed twice, but each time the tow truck driver removed the rear mud flap (NEWMAR) before raising the front. Each time the driveshaft was disconnected. One time took 90 minutes to hook-up, another was 45 minutes. Waiting for the truck to arrive each time was 2 hours (once near Sedona, the other near Willcox, AZ).
