We're a couple of weeks into our ownership of an 06 Kountry Star gasser. We've been using the ac frequently without incident. This morning I turned on the front heat pump (because we're wusses) to take the chill off. We did get heat but a lot of dirt/debris came out of the ducts. I only had the heat pump on early and just tried the ac. Some more dirt came out of the ducts. I'm hoping that this will clear itself up in due course. This was a Florida rig and maybe never had the heat pump on. Any insights would be appreciated. Bob

If you do not use the heat for a period, the ducts collect dust, hair, etc. When you turn it on you get the plume of dust and then you will get a burning smell as it clears the duct.

This is the same that older house heating used to do. No harm just annoyance.

I get stuff out of my floor vents when I use the furnace, which is very seldom since I live in Florida. Never have had any dust or debris come out of the ceiling fans when I have the air or heat pumps running.

I misread the OP. I was talking about the furnace also. We have never had duct from the heat pump.

The row of intake ceiling ducts have the circular grills that pop off with a filter. The outputs are the same grills without filters. I had some larger pieces of the filter material that was a bit thinner. I cut some circles out of it and fitted it to the outputs. This should catch this debris instead of spreading it throughout the MH. It doesn't seem to impede the airflow too much and I'll check them regularly.
