Access to Side Radiator on 02 Newmar DSDP

I've been looking to see if the vented area on the side radiator is easily removable in order to facilitate cleaning the radiator. The PO I purchased it from didn't know. I know that on some other brands the vent assembly raises or swings out. I don't want to go yanking on something and do the wrong thing checking into the possibility.

I've had two rear radiators and am glad to have a side radiator. I just hope cleaning it from both sides will be as easy as I was hoping.

There's probably a couple screws in the bottom of the vented area grill. Take them out and the grill will swing up just like a baggage door does.

The problem with cleaning the radiator is you can only see the inter side of it. What your seeing from the outer side is the charge air cooler. There's a gap between the two that you can't get to unless you remove the hydraulic coolers and the CAC.

+1 on Rotten Red. I had to have mine done by Freightliner in SLC last summer. There are two or three screws along the bottom piece that release the louvre assembly to swing up. Then to get full access to pressure wash you have to demount that first unit-- which you can do, iirc, without disconnecting lines. This will also make it easier to clean out all the leaves and twigs that manage to get up in between there. ;-)

Thanks for the info. I was hoping for some pin I wasn't seeing. I also didn't want to remove the screws and and the louvered assembly fall off. Yes, the challenge is always getting to the radiator from the engine side. I was used to standing on my head to clean the radiators in my other coaches.
