Adventures of Newbee - The Chinese connection
OK there I am washing the bugs of Newbee (site 7 camp Newmar), when a nice couple pulls up to ask me a question. Based on their accent I surmised that they were tourists from China exploring our great country. But after pleasantries came the stereotypical question: "where are the amish?"
I thought for a minute and almost let loose with an "animal house answer". For just a minute I thought to tell our guests that all the amish just caught a bus to tour China and if they hurried home they might catch them. I am sure our amish brothers and sisters would have got a laugh out of that. But, after assessing the large amount of time I would have to spend in a confessional, I decided on a different answer.
I referred the couple to the amish museum down the street then wish them safe travels.
Only in America.
