Advice on changing black tank flush inlet
Nothing is ever simple.....
My black tank flush inlet "knob" was hard to turn so I bought a Valterra replacement.
The new one was leaking-badly-even with teflon tape. I put the old one on and that was leaking also so I have to conclude the elbow fitting this screws into is stripped/cracked and thus needs replacement.
How do you get the clamp off?
Any better ideas for a replacement? Metal elbow instead of plastic?

I use a cut-off wheel on a Dremel to remove those clamps, takes about 2-3 seconds.
Have you tried to put a new rubber donut gasket in the PEX fitting? That is what is probably worn out. No need to replace the rest of the fitting unless it really is cracked.

I just replaced the blade valves in my new to me older coach. What I can tell you is that the rubber gasket is a pain to get lined up just right without pinching! My black and grey are joined after the valves to one pvc Y. I removed BOTH of the valves at the same time to get everything apart and then ended up replacing both blade valves with new as long as I had it apart even though only 1 was leaking.
I don't know if this helps you at all....but I spent the better part of 3 hours doing this job! I had to keep trying until I managed not to get the O ring gasket pinched! It is nice having smooth valves and NO LEAKS!
Good luck with your job. There isn't much movement in that pvc piping without chance of damaging or cracking them.

Can you get a hack saw in there at a angle? You can also break off a short piece of hack saw blade and use a vice grip to hold the blade.

Whoa,,,, before you start hacking and chopping, go get a new rubber taper seal. Problem solved. But remember, these fittings are Hand Tight Only.

This thread is not about the blade valve, right? This is about the 90* black tank flush inlet fitting...

Agree, that's my interpretation.
Sounds like all he needs is a new seal. This is the nut and seal but should be able to source just the seals.

You can also use a small blade screwdriver and pry the pex clamp loose. Lift up on the piece of metal that has the racket slots that tighten the clamp.
I would also try replacing the gaskets first. You must have a pex tool to reinstall the clamp. Regular hose clamps won’t work on pex hose pipe.

UGH....I just got back from HD and didn't see the last few posts.
The eBay link shows a cap and not an elbow. I don't really see a "seal" in the old one. Maybe a gasket but not as large as in the eBay pic.
I don't know anything about pex nor do I have the tools for them.
Any reason this won't work with a worm clamp?
Should I have bought one of these instead? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-2-PEX-x-1...item35f26eff81

Sorry I don't have a better picture but the seal is going to be a rubber taper seal similar to the white one in the link. It is pushed into the nut to form the seal.
To remove it, take a small screwdriver and hook it to pull it out of the nut. Take the old one to an RV Parts store and get a new one to match. Buy a couple of spares to keep in your Tool Box for future use when another one decodes to leak.
You DO NOT have to replace the whole fitting........

That clamp is probably going to leak. I’ve tried using those clamps with pex and they will not compress the pex pipe. That’s how I wound up with my pex tool. I wouldn’t trust it. Keep a close eye on it.
