Ahhh Newmar

We spent Easter weekend at the KOA in Rodanthe, and Friday night was very windy and rainy. Came back home and climbed up on the roof to make sure everything was as it should be. Well I noticed that 8 of my 10 roof clearance lights were full of water. It looks like they sealed around the light bases but didnít seal the lenses themselves. Also the baggage doors that Iíve been to Nappanee twice to have fixed are still filling up with water when it rains.

On a lighter note, Iíve finally came up with a name for my coach. Thor. 😜

How old is your unit? Most all clearance lights have a rubber or neoprene seal between the base body & the lens. It appears yours have deteriorated very badly. You need to replace these lights with new LED marker lights. They wont'd heat up as much- less condensate formed in cold weather - last longer. don't corrode & last 10-20X longer.

Happy Trails

Well,. do the lens snap on or screw on? Suppose you are going to have to seal them. But I would call NM Customer Service, and see if they will send you new assemblies free, since they are not supposed to leak. How bad have the door sealing been, on units we looked at, all the door close tight.

Itís a 2016. There wasnít a seal in between the lenses and the bases. I plan on ordering all new LED assemblies in the near future. I cleaned them out and siliconed them back together so theyíll be leak proof for now.

The lenses snap in the front and the back is held in place with one screw. I might try calling Newmar, but I plan on replacing them all with led units anyway.

Assumed, the new ones from NM will be LED, but I would check with them to see, they also might make you a great deal, because of the trouble.
