I have an appointment on Friday with Middleton and Meads to take a look at my problem where my rear turn signals and brake lights randomly stop working. When one of the turn signals doesn't work, then the corresponding pin on the trailer connector doesn't give a signal, too.

I also was sent a TSB by Spartan to get the turn signal flasher fixed. It doesn't flash in a steady pattern.

This past weekend, while coming back from the Mopar Nationals, I noticed that my rear air brakes wouldn't hold pressure at idle. The front would get to 130 psi, but the rear wouldn't get above 100 unless I revved the engine.

While driving, the rear brakes stayed above 100, but when I stopped in traffic, it would go below 100.

I assume this is a problem that Spartan needs to fix under warranty, right?

Yep, that would be a Spartan issue.

Oh, I know air brakes are Spartan's end, I was just making sure that the symptom I described is really a problem.

The secondary (front) tank is always lower than the primary as it supplies air also for the suspension and pac brake. Additionally, the guages are not precision instruments, just indicators. down to 85/90 psi is about normal. Very rarely will you see your secondary near equal to that of the primary.

Actually, I noticed it was going closer to 50 psi. After sitting for just a few days, the low air warning came on when I started it up.

These are things that it never did before. It could sit for a month and the low air wouldn't come on. When I let it sit for almost 3 months, then it came on.

It's at Middleton and Meads right now. I'll call them tomorrow to see what's going on.

Maybe it's not something to worry about, but the pressure is definitely dropping lower than it ever did before.

Your Air Pressure gauges do not report Front and rear brake pressure but are as Lug Nut has said are Primary and secondary air systems.

And yes 50 psi is TOO low, It will be a Spartan issue and should be warranty, Likely a valve wich is leaking.

I could also hear air leaking from around the rear of the coach. I know it's normal for air to purge, but should it do that when the pressure in both tanks is below 100 psi?

Thanks for clarifying the 2 tanks and not front and rear.

The Air Drier is usually at the rear of the Coach But it will only Purge or Blow off when your system reaches full pressure. When the Compressor shuts off the Air drier will purge.

In my opinion For what ever that is Worth!!! LOL The air leak you are hearing is not normal. It could be many things, as I said likely some valve.

This valve could be on your air ride, on your brake system or it could be the air drier not closing after purging. These valves can get dirt in them or a rubber could tear or an internal spring break.

I am sure Spartan will find it and get you going!!

I just called Middleton and Meads. My 7 pin trailer connector wires were all loose. Fixing that fixed the rear lights.

The person who answered just said I had a leak and they fixed it. That fixed the brakes. I'll try to get more specifics when I pick it up tomorrow evening.
