I too will err on the side of safety...Remember that Spartan "requires" the Spartan Air Brake Kit installed if your going to air braking for the toad...I have had it installed on my last two coaches...I use the Blue Ox system and have had no problems with it...I would recommend going with a proportional braking system which I believe all air systems are...I tried to get the M & G but was told it wouldn't work with my 2003 Grand Cherokee...that was several years ago so don't know if they have remedied that...Also have a friend with M & G on his Town & Country...he had to switch to a smaller battery to accommodate the M & G...he has had some battery problems since.

I would recommend the SMI Air Force One

I was very satisfied with my install and the unit mimics the M & G in performance and set up, with the caveat that SMI is an iRV2 sponsor as well as a participant in these forums....

I've used SMI products for several years, the "Stay and Play" before the Air Force One..... I towed an H3 Hummer and then a K3500 Crew Cab behind my '07 LADB and the unit worked without incident....

Why not support those vendors that support our forum, as it keeps the forum running..... and free!

I agree with rebelsbeach. The Air Force One is a great system. We have had it installed on our 2005 Grand Cherokee and feel so much more confidant that all will stop in an emergency.

The new Family Motor Coaching Annual Guide to Towing just came out and starting on page 78 lists maximum combined length's per state. Maryland is 62' and Florida is 65'. Some states show N/A while a couple others list 70' - 100'.

If we believe we can be accident free than we shouldn't worry about insurance... but them lawyers... now that's another thing! JK

I too couldn't live with myself if I took a life or seriously harmed anyone because I felt the need/situation would never arise.

We are having the Spartan Air Brake kit installed at Massey's Diesel in Phoenix on Monday. Thank you all for your input!
