Why not remove the evans valve and replace with the ball valve in that location rather than in the heater hose below the evans vlave? Thanks Art

Welcome afpoettcker to the Newmar forum & irv2.
The valve is ok for the summer months but you need heat control for the winter months like where you live. My wife is cold on a warm spring day if I forget to turn valve open for heat. Stop the motor home open hood open valve.
Its alot easier from the control on dash.
The BALL VALVE does work for AC dash in the summer though.
New EVANS CONTROL
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

Thanks. My evans vlave is stuck open so AC blows warm air. I wish to replace with a manual ball vlave but I am not sure why it seems people place it in the lower hose rather than just remove the evans and put in the ball valve.

You can pick either hose but leave the Evans valve for heat control.
Use some PB Blaster to try and free up control lever on valve.

You need someone to move control lever inside on dash and watch a control rod move the lever on Evans valve the PB may free it up or maybe something else is binding it.

Remember, the Evans control valve is "not a temp style blend valve" per Evans. I spoke to a rather some what rude lady at Evans and that is what she told me in no uncertain terms.

The new style valve is the same as the old valve with just a different wiring. You need an adapter to hook it up to the current wiring.

That old bag at Evans gave me a load of trouble when my blower went out. Newmar has an outside HVAC company do warranty repairs and they come to their shop.
Here is his # Jeff 574-215-0839. He knows every part and screw and how it goes together.

Evans won't sell direct and Newmar doesn't have a clue what parts fit what.
