Air Filter Change - 2014 Ventana/Cummins ISL
Hi Guys,
Never done an Air Filter change on my Ventana. Can it be accomplished without crawling under the coach ?
Best place to purchase ? Part # ?
Thanks !

Any Freightliner dealer.
No...you have to crawl under coach on the rear radiator models.
Take a 1/2" deep socket, a rag, and some spray silicone...
ECO Filter 062891001
Our 2016 Air Cleaner service interval is 2 yrs or by the filterminder indicator which ever comes first.

Made by Farr Ecolite and sold under many different brand names but all come from the same place. I think if you check with your local truck shop you might find a Fleetgard filter will be price competitive with almost anyone else. And, you have the comfort of being able to check the date. Filter manufacturers suggest a maximum service life of two years regardless of what the filter minder indicates.
See link below for a cross reference from the Ecolite part number to the various brands.
If you change this filter yourself it is Very Important to clean the area around the filter, particularly the hose connections, before removal. Cleanliness IS Critical.

Hi - Just ordered a 62891-001from the Filter Barn for $113.51 with free shipping. They are usually the lowest price and free shipping on orders over $100. Good service.
Dennis is right, they are all Farr filters as far as I know.

Be very careful to make sure the clamps are tight when put new filter back on. Also make sure air hose is lined up correctly. Most are easy to change but take your time and double check your work because if hose come off our there is a leak you can damage engine to the point of replacement because dust and dirt entered air intake.

If I remember it is 120 inch pounds which stated another way 10 foot pounds. Need to check after 1st drive because sometimes there is some movement and you need to look if still in correct location and also check clamps again. Can't state any more then this is important for the second check.
Good idea to check all your other clamps on turbo CAC, coolant hoses and others when replacing air cleaner every 2 years. On both the Essex and LA the clamp needed a deep 7/16 socket.
