Air Filter location?

My wife and I have a 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire gas coach, and we were recently advised to think about replacing the air filter soon. The coach has roughly 39,000 miles on it. I was told that the air filter should normally be replaced at around 30,000 miles. (The picture the shop showed me did look a bit dirty.)

Regardless of whether the shop's recommendation is correct, I'm thinking I would at least like to investigate the possibility of replacing the air filter myself, except for one thing. I have no idea where the filter cannister is on this particular coach. The Workhorse manual outlines the procedure for removing the filter element but says nothing about where the filter is located. (The engine is the 8.1L.)

I tried searching the forum and read a lively discussion/debate about air filters but could find nothing specific to my question. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

On our 2006 Allegro Open Road with the Workhorse chassis the air filter is in front of the right front tire. I have to access it from underneath the coach. To give me room to change it I turn the wheels to the left as far as they will go. Make sure to clean your MAF sensor while you are doing it.

Thanks. I'll take a look. (Nice of them to make it so convenient.) My coach specifies a part number of W8800464 as the replacement, but I am unable to find that number or determine what might be its equivalent.

Thanks. I did look at that thread, and I wasn't clear as to whether those were a direct replacement for the W8800464 filter specified in my owner's manual. Nor have I been able to find that part number anywhere (W8800474, yes, but I have no way of know if these are the same or close to the same).

This looks like it will be the closest replacement to the filter specified in my owner's manual, a part number that no longer seems to be available and one the does not come up in any of the auto parts cross-reference charts I found online. Thanks.

This link will tell you everything you need to know about your 8.1 , some people have changed their older air filters and removed the large TUBA in front of radiator with a CAI so just be aware.
Also look at TECH TIPS on link.

I took a look, but I saw nothing referencing the air filter part number my manual says is the right filter for my coach (W8800464). I have not been able to determine for sure whether that part number was superceded by another number. Maybe I'm over analyzing this, but I just want to make sure I get the correct part, if it still exists.

I ended up having the repair place that works on my motorhome replace the filter. All in all, I think I came out pretty good as they only charged $31.43 (total cost) to change out the filter. Thanks to everyone for their attempts to help.
