I have a regular "car" horn on my rig and air horns. I got the air horns to work only once on my maiden voyage. What gives? Also, why do the horns look like they have covers on them?

Also, what is the switch for on the dash that says air horn?

Help please.

OK, not sure why the WOW sign.

What I meant by the switch question is, why is there a switch that says air horn. Does it disable them? Why would I do that etc.

I can turn the air horns off with the dash switch. Why? The first time your wife is cleaning and leans against the steering wheel around 10PM and sounds the air horn, you will know why! Part of my check list is to turn them on when I start up.

The dash switch does in fact disable the horns for many reasons....

If my wife is cleaning the inside and I'm on the ladder getting the bugs off the windshield, she's send me to the street off the ladder if she hit the button....

If the air horn switch if OFF, you'll not hear the air horns.

Scott, I disconnect the regular horns and use only air horns. Did it on my DSDP and now on the EXDP. I'm not saying it's a good idea as it probably is not legal in some places, but it sure sounds far better and, what's really important, COOL.

Another thing to contemplate when driving is that electric horns make noise RIGHT NOW when you push the button. Air horns taks half a second before you hear anythind. (I assume they are inhaling first.

If a basketball comes into the street, you expect it to be followed by a small boy, and that small delay might help.

I use both on the road and turn off the air when parked. I seem to be surrounded by pranksters who enjoy making loud noises in confined spaces.

In answer to the covers question, I think they keep the rain out so that you have air horns, not air garglers. If you look close, there is a gap around the edges to let the air out. If there wasn't. the air from the horn would blow it off.

The air horn switch on my 06 toggles between air horns and "regular" car horn. It does not turn them off.

ecker, has that right there will always be a horn activated because of safety reasons its just when both are active that it will get more attention.

Hi JavaJelly! In our case our Minature Schnauzers jump in the drivers seat and lean on the steering wheel. Always late at night. How are you enjoying your new coach? Paul
