Air hose

For those of you that carry air lines with you, how long a line do you carry and where do you keep it?

Do you use the outlet in the generator compartment or carry a small portable?

Thanks

50 ft. Plastic line takes little space in the basement and I use the coach air.

I carry a 50 foot hose coiled up in the front generator compartment, hooked to the air connection in the compartment. Based on my weight and the Michelin tables I don't need more than 105 psi front and 85 on rear and tag. So there is enough air on board and no need for a portable.

Dick,

Did you have to do anything special? I saw some videos of guys with shut of valves etc and gauges on the air filler, or is that for higher pressures?

The valve is part of the air up front system. I added a pressure gauge just to see what I had there. I carried a 50 foot hose, but plastic line is a much better idea. Thanks judge.

You can add a simple hook system like this for your air hose. The hose in the picture is for my pressure washer.

Carry two of the plastic 50 ft air hoses to use with the built-in front connection. Easy to reach the tires on the toad or a neighboring coach if they need to borrow a cup of air.

Don - Based on the direction of the blue hose, it looks like you've somehow creatively located a pressure washer somewhere up front. What pressure washer do you have and where did you put t it?

I carry a 50ft hose for the coach. And another shorter spirally thing for extending to the toad, if it's connected, and I need the extra reach.

I love that mount that DutchStarDon has...nice work!!!

As far as air..,I was able to find an "air doubler" assembled by Dickmann Tires. They call it the Air Booster 1. Normally, ridiculously priced..,but I couldn't pass up the deal in eBay. It uses existing air pressure to power a piston system which doubles the outlet pressure. Wish somebody would make them in quantity and affordabley. I think most air equipped rigs would have one. You could easily find the components surplus on eBay, and with a little teflon tape and a couple of wrenches, assemble one yourself.

I carried a 50 foot hose and used it once in 6 months. 10,000 miles. Can't imagine the need to carry a compressor. 100 up front and 85 rears.

Tony,
No I do nothing special. The connection has a valve on it. I leave it off and the hose unconnected. I do have a gauge on the valve filler fitting so I can tell how I'm doing on a fill. I always do a check of the final tire pressure with a stand alone gauge.

"DrPhil"......Here is my post on installing the pressure washer. It's just a cheap Harbor Freight unit that I stripped down to the bare essentials and mounted inside the gen compartment.

It's good for rinsing off the coach and frame after a really dirty road or day. I bought the blue hose in the picture from a local hose supply and repair house. It was premade and fit the fitting on the Harbor Freight unit.

I do carry a small compressor and 50' of hose in my "tool" bay. Both compressor & hose reel are fairly low profile and take up little room. Probably overkill but we are avid bicyclists and the bike tires seem to always need a topper.
