Air Leaks?

Just wondering how long should it take for the air to leak out of the system. Mine only last about 1 hour then all my air is gone. I'm thinking it should take longer than that. What is normal?

It would help if you filled out your signature line so we know the year and model of the coach you have. That said my coach lost its air in 42 minutes. Took it to Spartan and after a couple of days and the replacement of several parts including one air tank and three holes in air lines it now holds air. The holes were caused by "slag" during the Newmar welding of the frame process.

You have a air leak someplace and need to find it. On my coach my air will last for several days.

At 18 years old I would make up some soap water in a spray bottle and go under the coach and start spraying all the fittings and valves looking for bubbles.

In California you can only loss 3lbs. of pressure in 5 min. and it is safety issue. Most coaches will hold ride height and 65 lbs. of air pressure for 24 hours. When you have that big of a air leak it should be easy to find some leaking air lines, fittings and ride height valve leaks. I would think you have a number of different leaks in air system. When air compressor is running it is taking 5 plus HP from engine so you loss fuel economy and performance. Do you hear air leaking when coach not running? Air driers can be a problems so don't forget to check that.

That's good to know, gives me a point of reference. Good point about the HP loss, didn't think about that. Don't really notice any hissing, but I just bought it last week and will certainly start listening for leaks.
