Air system question

My secondary (rear) pressure display dropped to 50#. I checked around for leaks and found that the "transducer" (metal cylinder, about the size of a small apple with a wire coming out of it) has a leak in the plastic portion where the wire connects. I pulled the wire connection and verified that the the rear pressure indication drops to zero. There were 2 of these side by side so I'm assuming the other is for the front (primary) pressure. They are located on the driver side, underneath and slightly forward of the front tire. I am trying to find out the actual name for this part and possibly a part number so I can order a replacement. I have a 1999 Dutchstar with a Spartan chassis. Thanks,
Phil

PS: I was unable to locate "lanyards" for draining the tanks, any ideas?

Phil. The secondary air tank supplies the front axle, not the rear. The primary air is always for the rear, drive axle. I'm not sure what part you are describing.

I was "guessing" at the secondary part. The guage that connects is definitely the rear pressure. I have checked the web and I'm pretty sure that the part is called a pressure sender. I've contacted Spartan Chassis and left a message. Hoping that they will get the part number for me, otherwise I will assume that it is a Stewart Warner sending unit (since the guage is) with a Packard connector and see if I can locate one on-line.

I have a 38' 2003 DSDP. I got a pressure sender unit from Spartan a little more than a year ago. I was experiencing a sudden drop in pressure on one of the gauges and then as quick a return to normal. I talked to Mike at Spartan, 1-800-722-3025 Ext 3407. It is called a (sender-pressure-air) with sku number 6620015411561. It ran a little over $100 with shipping.

I removed the leaky device. I was unable to read the label and am still waiting to hear back from Spartan. The close up shows what appears to be a hole where I think the air was leaking but since this is where the electrical connection attaches, there must also be an internal leak.

Spartan also emailed me a picture of the pressure sender unit with its location under the front hood on the firewall.

Air problem repaired

I found the part from a local Stewart Warner dealer, air-press-sender #82894, ($54.01). Replaced and checked, pressure holding great, no leaks. Thanks for the help. Still working on the generator.

Air pressure sender

Hello Phil,
I need to change one of the pressure senders on my 2005 Newmar Kountry Star. The Spartan part number is 0195-GG3-015, but they don't have any, and neither do any of the dealers.
I see that you used Stewart-Warner 82894. Spartan tells me that 82894 will not work because it is calibrated differently.
It has been some time since you changed your using 82894. How has it worked for you?
Thanks for your help.
