Has anyone ever had a slide activate near a airport on its own? We have Ham Radio operators that transmit from their MH's do you use some kind of suppression to elimiate this from happening.
We have a Newmar owner that has this problem and Newmar tech's said a possibility but now back out of this statement.
As far as I know it only happens to the rear bedroom slide, if the living slide doesn't do it, would think its a control unit problem, easy fix maybe replace bedroom control unit.
This MH is now on consignment because owner is afraid to use it, but problem is still there.

A very good reason for travel lock in this case. Since Newmar doesn't use hydraulic slide systems then the travel lock would probably work ok. I wonder if the controller could be inclosed in a shielded box?

RF interference is nothing new to electronic control systems. There are fixes available. A shield sometimes works. Usually, however, it's a components issue. An electronic fix such as diodes, regulators, or potentiometers or similar modifications aren't a user repairable item since it's a circuit board issue.
We put some diodes in our air sampling equipment to reduce the affect of RF interference.
My garage door was affected by incoming aircraft until I changed the codes. It was interesting there for a while to watch it go up then down then stop and back up again.
With a slide on a MH, that can be disconcerting and worrisome.
Hope there's a fix in process.

With the travel locks on the '06's and now the '07's I don't think this issue affects them...
Definitely a concern for the older model year coaches though...

I heard that the factory fix is to slap a huge IRV2 sticker over the slide joint to keep it from coming out.

Man Bob, you got to change your color, that looks awesome!
Then again you really should'nt worry about color, the full body wrap is on it's way to Nemar.
Sky blue & irv2 logo for you!

I was envious of your rig on order; seeing the actual photo of the color combination which is depicted better than the brochure color scheme really gets all of us wishing. It is one gorgeous Essex.

2006 MADP and currently a 2006 Winnebago Vectra parked RIGHT NEXT TO my garage and we open and close the overhead door at least three times a day with remotes...NEVER an issue

I am a Ham radio operator and have had this problem before so a quick zix to the problem I pput a switch in the line at the fuse for the slide at fuse panel. When I put slides out I turn switch on then turn it off after slides are out. Quick fix but it works for me. The first time it happened luckly I was at home and the limit switch ,,,,which works on current,,,,maxed out and turn it off. Have tried shielding and grounding with no fix ....so switch or pull the fuse,,,what a pain is the fix for me.
