While changing my air filter and disconnecting the inlet hose to the air filter I noticed that there was interference with the "gusset" or fiberglass panel. The cutout was insufficient at the top radius allowing the hose to rub on the sharp fiberglass...several holes and tears are now in the hose. I taped them with ducttape until I get to a service center.
I called Newmar and spoke to Brian...he was not aware of any other calls with this problem, but I thought I would post anyway

It would be nice if you would include a signature or note on what year and type of Newmar you are referring to...

Ronnie's profile indicates he has a 2006 Dutchstar 4306 w/tag (I guess that makes it a DP). I don't know if that is the rig he is referring to or not.

Sorry about the lack of info. I have a 2006 Dutchstar 43' with tag and the cummins 400 ISL. Looking at the intake vent of Dutchstar, Mountain Aire and Essex nd the location of the air filter this problem could exist.

It's good you spotted it as it could contribute to dusting your engine if unchecked as it draws on the engine side of the filter element. I will check mine. Thanks for posting the heads up.
