All Star Mid Engine

My wife and I saw one of those a few months ago and prompted today by the sight of an Outlaw Class A toy hauler today we again discussed it a little.

So what was the story on that thing? It looked pretty cool to me and had some interesting plans including a toy hauler. Yet it failed. Problems in execution? No market for it?

I've only seen one mid engine Class A and I dismissed it because the engine cover was right in the middle of the kitchen. I don't think that would be popular.

They had some excellent 2008 floor plans and people have been on the hunt for them for years some are still in service giving good service for what the people want and need. 2007 floor plans
Motor was no problem with good access, in the QT's 1 & 2 there is a owner who posted many mod's for his coach.
Mod's are at the end of that long thread.
In the 2008 RV collapse was the killer of this coach model, not anything wrong with coach.

I vividly remember seeing the floorplan (second and third photo in the above brochure) that had a slide on both sides at the rear. They had both models at the L.A. RV Show. They slid out and you could load a Harley on both sides from behind the coach.

I've never heard of what caused their downfall, but I bet they were tough to keep the engine cool.

I guess we could do a search for engine problems but being truthful never heard about engine problems from this Spartan chassis which was used for fire engines also.

Both Newmar and Travel Supreme had mid-engine units on Spartan chassis. Spartan did a lot of engineering to get these units to the market place but just didn't find a place. Few sales ended the units.
