Last week I finally moved my accelerator pedal 1.5 " closer to the drivers seat and I added a 1.5" extension to the brake pedal.

The brake pedal proved too difficult to move therefore the extension.
The Allstar accelerator pedal was located too far under the dash and my knee was always in contact with the dash. Last summer out of frustration I screwed a block of wood to the accelerator pedal. This worked well for comfort but on numerous occasions I found myself pushing on both accelerator and brake simultaneously.
The RV technicians who drove the coach also complained about the flush pedals.
Another solution would have been to lower the seat but that meant sawing off the pedestal and re-welding it shorter, something I will do this summer for my wife.
I am 6 feet tall, I fit size 11 shoes, I wear large pants, large shirts and need no alterations.
Newmar engineers must have very long toes or curved shinbones.

Great idea and nice work. I'm surprised the ME does not come with manual adjustable pedals. Anyway, you had a great answer to address it.

Good going! We have been putting off the project for almost two years. Luckily able to use the cruise control a lot. Was considering cutting the pedistal but just haven't gotten the ambition to do it yet. How did you adjust the accelerator pedal? Talked to Spartan to try and get a mod to add adjustable pedals but they were of no help.

Dave,
The accelerator pedal is easily reached through the front hood. I used a vice grip to hold the self-locking bolts while I loosened them from above. Careful the vice grip doesn't turn and crush the wires on the air brake mechanism. After the pedal is off you will see lots of options for new holes. You may choose to cut off the single hole at the close end of the pedal and move the new bolt pattern to the holes under the pedal. If you cut off and abandon the single hole I suggest adding at least two extra bolts and maybe a backing plate for under the floor. Spartan or Newmar only use two bolts. I also noticed that the pedal is on a slight angle so that you're your foot remains flat on the pedal. I laso removed the dash support wall to improve access.
