Anyone have the cushion layout for turning the Allstar U Dinette into a bed? I have asked Newmar and they don't have any directions or photos to provide. My dealer doesn't know how it's supposed to go together either. They talked with Newmar more and got out of them that the two upright end cusions are supposed to go upright against the wall. Which may be, but if you do it this way, it doesn't make into a completely flat bed, those two cushions end up protruding into the bed about 4 inches. But if you leave them out, then you end up with a 4 inch hole on the front or back side of the bed. Anyone have any assistance they can lend, maybe a diagram or photos? Or have I already been told the proper layout?
Thanks,
Alan

we have never tried so we just did!
I would say that you put all three large cushions in line. Then you place the one narrow full width cushion toward the end. Then the gap that is left takes the two small cushions to fill the space and act as a headboard.
That is how we would have done it anyway.

Alan I'll post a photo that my dealer sent me if I can find it.
We had the same problem and the answer to the puzzle is'nt very satisfiying. It's a bumpy bed and difficult to keep together.
Also watch out for the fit on the boards. My wife fell through while kneeling and reaching to close a window. She suffered a nasty scrape to the shin.
Let me know how you find the sitting position.
I'm six feet tall and wear large pants and it feels like I'm sitting on a very narrow bench that is sloped towards the table. I'm sure that Kids would find it very comfortable.

I have a very different view than Bob on this one. I am 6'1" @ 215lbs and my family of 5 sit at the table two meals a day. It is not a 5 star restaurant but the table is very comfortable to me.
The fit of the boards has to be the cause of the reported injury. On my unit the boards are 1/2" plywood and are much more than you need to carry the weight of the average adult.

I must be an odd shape. I had trouble with the accelerator pedal also.
Nathan you are right, the boards were cut too small for the hole. I agree they are strong enough.

Nice! Thanks Bob. I'm picking our coach up again today so I'll try it out. Just curious, where do you store those big triangular cushions when you've got the bed made out?

Driver's seat is where we put them.
Also we had to wrap a big beach towel around the center cushions to keep our daughter from falling into the crack.
