I was cleaning on my coach today, and I notice an Amber Light, about 3" across under My front Door step. Could any of you shed some light on this

Should light up when steps open, check ground strap or bulb & socket for it, if not lit.

My light only comes on when the outside door light is on. Guess it's so we can see the top step at night.

Hi Vacman,
Some coaches are wired so the light comes on when:
  1. the switch for the step retraction (when the door is closed) is in the on position. or
  2. the overhead entry light switch is in the on position.
Mine came from the factory with #1 wiring. I wanted the light to come on when #2 was active. I added a wire to the light circuit and now I have both #1 and #2.

You can always add these lights for a better view of your steps at night.

Not when the steps open, it lights when the DOOR opens

It is the "Step light" and next to useless far as I can tell

I am thinking of changing that under step light out to two 12" (14 LED) lights. Should be brighter and look nicer then what's there.
