AMS manual shade adjustment

I had to replace the broken spring in the passenger side manual AMS roll up shade and am having problems setting the tension and stop mechanism. So I’m asking if someone knows the secret for adjusting the tension. AMS offered no guidance, their answer was to purchase a new shade from NewMar. It is said there is a Utube video for everything, they are wrong in this case. By the way, AMS doesn’t sell parts but I was able to find the spring assembly through Braddandhall.com.

I have had six of the roller shade springs break in the same way. The plastic piece that holds one end of the spring assembly will snap if there is too much tension (see photo).
Here are the adjustment instructions I received from Newmar CS. I have tried to adjust the tension; however, it doesn't seem to do much good.

Thank you for the response. I was able to find these instructions, but as you say they are not terribly helpful. Guess I’ll play with it some more.
