Seems there was a rash of of problems reported on new Essex birth pains. Well, now some possitive. I'm in Iowa heading west, no problems. This bad boy runs great. I can not beleive the power and accelleration throughout and including high end speed. 5 to 6% short grades(1/2 mile) 1400 RPM in sixth at about 64 MPH, no downshift no speed loss. If you want to increase speed in that same senario, you can. I'm impressed.
So, anyway, it's about time we heard some favorable EXDP news.

I have arrived at Summit Products in Johnston Iowa. Tomorrow they will be starting to manufacture custom stainless steel rocker covers which should be finish and installed by Wednesday noon or so. From here I go to Clarkston Washington. Should arrive there by Saturday afternoon.
All the fans are turning and the coolant is staying inside where it should be.

Sorry to hear that Bob. I had my own issue, but it was solved quick.

When I arrived at Summit in Johnston Iowa on Sunday I determined the fuel pump was sweating and would be leaking soon. I called the Cummins dealer in Des Moines and told them I was at Summit and had a concern regarding my fuel pump. An hour later a serviceman arrived and check the pump out. He determined it required replacement, which would have to be done in their shop 8 miles away. He took my info and said he would book me for service for 7 am on Wed. as I requested and said he would make sure a pump was there.

Well, he also told me that if I got over there on Tuesday night, they could probably fix me up as they are open until 11 pm. I made it there on Tuesday at about 4:30 pm. They took me at 5:00 pm and with a new pump (brand new out of the box) I was out and west bound by 6:00 pm, 1 and a half hours later. And running like I stole it.

What a great repair experience. And, yes, I'm still going. In North Dakota tonight.

Hey Bob, I forgot to mention, the job on the stainless steel looks cool. 10" (with underwrap leaves about 8" on rocker panels) flat laser polished 18 guage 304 stainless with fender tracers. I ran through rain after leaving Cummins last night for about 30 miles in heavy traffic. The stainless looks 100% clean and new after that. Summit does top quality work.

Troth, I have one picture so far and have it in my profile on rv.net. When I reach the west and get the unit washed I will take more and get help to post them.
