I hate those d--n pleated shades. It takes at least ten minutes to fold them back up after each use. Does anybody have a good technique for folding them? Or any ideas for replacements? Any help greatly appreciated.

I hated them too until I had some experience with them. I push on the open end near the mounting rail and put a hand on the curtains about 6 inches away and fold up a small section at a time. Keep advancing your hand in 6 to 10" increments and fold up the next section. It goes pretty quick this way. Usually can fold them in 1 to 2 minutes.

I hate folding them back too, I tried to give this chore to the DW, it must have been above her pay grade cause I'm still doing them. Sometimes it goes better than others, I use the cord to close them at least half way then start folding them starting at the back end and working with them till they are folded up.

If you're keeping the rig for any length of time, replace them - unless you need something to raise your blood pressure now and then.

I found you just need patients and I'm never in a rush.
I do not know about pull cords but I have a rod on both curtains at center location that I pull curtain on track and use other hand to help pleats along the track. You make it around and its straight home from there.
Same curtains with 8 years of use and it still has straight pleats.
Maybe they used more starch back then.

Like "stik" says: Get MCD shades. They cost a bit but well worth it. They will install them which is worth it too.

We still use the pleated shades when we have to. When we have our MagneShades up we have blankets that have washers sewn on at appropriate locations that attach to the magnets. We can't use them when the shades are not attached because they pull the magnets off the windshield .
We would get MCD shades, but our coach would take 3 of them to accommodate the tube TV we have in the overhead console. IIRC your model year coach has a flat front on the console (between the windshield and console) which would accommodate a single MCD shade.

I make sure I fold them before I put in the slide. Makes it easier and takes about 5 minutes. I am not retired but it just becomes part of the process for getting back on the road, just like putting away the leveling pads and the dog pens.

has anyone tried adding more hooks? seems like that may make it easier to close, but have not tried it yet.
