Angry Another Newmar Beauty

The black broadcast antenna control pad inside the coach did freeze on E1, and no matter what I did, I could not turn it off, or reset it.
Yesterday I had a RV TV/Audio technician, and he thinks the pad may have to be replaced. That's not the problem.
The pad has hard wired to the circuit board 3 very thin black coax cables about 6-8" long with BNC connectors. But they are dropped inside the wall and solidly tied to something, so there is no way anyone can reach the connectors. No service loop or slack.
Basically, I have to cut the wall to get to the connectors? I'm not happy

Give Newmar a call and see if they can tell you how the wires are setup during the build.

Thanks Coral, I have the manual and tried just about all. Few min. ago got off the phone with Winegard. One new thing she suggested is running a separate cable to the antenna to make sure it is not the cable. I did the hard reset with no results.
Without reaching the coax connectors in the wall, I can not run a separate wire to test the antenna.....

I just remembered that I have one of the endoscope 10mm cameras. Went to the coach with my laptop and started to inspect between the walls. Sure enough there were 3 connectors behind a plastic tiewrap down the hole. Lucky for me, it was not too tight. Managed to work the connectors thru it and pull them all 3 out. Than I run a brand new factory made coax direct from the antenna to the control pad, per Winegard’s instructions. No change [emoji848]. Winegard is closed for today, but I will be calling again in the morning.

I am having constant issues with mine also. When I called Winegard they tried to walk me through the different troubleshooting steps. Nothing worked. After traveling sometimes it works great when we set up and sometimes it just constantly searches for hours and never stops. No error codes yet.

Factory appointment coming up next week so I am hoping it is an easy fix.

This morning Winegard made me go back on the roof and check the voltage at the end coax. Turned out, it was only 73mv (should be 7V I think she said) and she decided the control pad was gone bad and I have to pay for a replacement. The TV technician already told me on Saturday that many of these pads were failing. So, I'm getting a new control pad for about $160 incl. shipping. It's only money

Keep us posted if the new pad fixed the problem. I had a failure in the dome of the motor. I was lucky and after 2.5 years they sent me a new dome. Been working fine ever since.

Are they calling what you have pictured, the control panel? I think that is the booster which supplies voltage to the antenna and displays signal strength (mine looks a little different). I bought mine I think on Amazon this tear some time and it was like $70.

Maybe you haven’t talked with the proper person at Winegard. I was having continuous E1 errors with my antenna and was told that the antenna needed to be replaced. I believe it may have been a software issue and Winegard had no way of sending/doing the upgrade. The antenna on the roof was replaced back in December 2017 and have not had the E1 error ever since.

At that time I was under warranty so maybe that’s why the replacement. If your under warranty, force them to send a new antenna for your roof....

Just wondering what’s on your roof. Is this the control for a Winegard Razer?

On the roof it is a (black) dome Rayzar automatic amplified Local broadcast HD TV Antenna. It was working fine. I was amazed at the quality picture we were getting.

Unfortunately, it is a 2015 coach. No warranty [emoji31]. Winegard made me pay full freight.
