When ya'll let me join this forum I'm sure you didn't think I would be so high maintenance, but I have another noobie question related to the AGS. My 2005 MADP has a Magnum Inverter with the Magnum AGS. I'm trying to set it up to crank the genny up to recharge the batteries if needed while in dry storage. I set the AGS temp control to "off" but the AGS will start the genny with the volt knob set to 10 even thought I'm showing over 12 volts on the meter. I turned the volt knob to "off" and the generator would stay off, but shortly after I rotated the knob to 10 the genny would crank up. I've looked at the owners manual for the AGS and it can be set up to work on either a 12 or 24 volt system by changing the "jumper" Is it possible that mine is on the 24 volt jumper and the AGS is looking for 20 volts when I have it set for 10, thereby causing the generator to set up. Would I have any issues if I did go change the jumper for a test and it was on the 12 volt jumper all along and I moved it to the 24 volt jumper.

What I would check first is the voltage level the AGS system is reading.
Example: In my case I have found the ags system has to be set for 11.6v even though it should be 11.9-12v to keep things above the 50% charge level.
Where the AGS system measures power is at the inverter, not at the batteries. I have found this causes it to read artificially low.
This is what could be happening to you.
To test this, get a high quality digital volt meter and measure the voltage directly from the batteries, then compare that to the voltage you see at the inverter input (directly on the inverter). If you can't access the inverter then as an estimate you can use the inverter display panel.
The number should match, but I doubt they will.
If they are wildly off, then it is time to start chasing wires to see if you a have a poor connection, or maybe undersized inverter wiring.

Corporate Monkey, thanks for the suggestion.
I figured it out, this kind of stuff only happens to me but in case anybody else has a similar problems here it is. When you install this it will work on 12 or 24 volt but you have to make sure you set up the module for 12 or 24 volt using a "jumper", it was set at 12 volt at the factory as the default setting according to the manual. I don't think the original owner ever used the AGS feature, but my unit was set up for 24 volt so I moved the jumper to be a 12 volt set up and it works as advertised now. BTW this is a Magnum Converter with a Magnum AGS.

I'm new to all this and have spent my time learning about my motorhome and this forum. After three weeks of ownership, a motorhome is a lot more than just driving it and setting it up at a camp ground. While the ownership of a motorhome is fun, learning about a motorhome might be above my paygrade, but I'll get there. As far as taking over this forum, in the three weeks I've been on this forum I've determined you are doing a great job and this job is definitely above my paygrade.
